By following a passion, door after door began to open for me, revealing countless opportunities to help others. Much of my life had guided me in this direction, and now, I was ready to fully embrace this new path.
My move to Granbury, Texas, marked a profound beginning in my life, a fresh start in a town where the community's warmth immediately felt like home. This move was not just a change of scenery; it was the start of a new chapter. I was ready to take a step into a new venture, one that had deeply impacted my life.
One of the most pivotal moments in my life was the loss of my father just a year before graduating high school. When most kids are planning their futures, I found myself reevaluating mine in the wake of grief. My father left behind $10,000 for me—this modest inheritance became the cornerstone of my future.
It was one of the smartest decisions I have ever made to use that money to buy my first home. And from then on, every few years, I upgraded, growing equity. My father’s final gift to me became the foundation of stability in my life. This was especially true when faced with one of the biggest challenges of my life—the premature birth of my daughter, Paige. The uncertainty and fear that accompanied her arrival were mitigated by the security that my early investment in real estate had provided.
This stability allowed me to focus on her needs without the added pressure of immediate financial concerns. It enabled me to work from home, tending to her while continuing to build my career in technology and programming, which later evolved into entrepreneurship.
My journey into real estate deepened over the years as I began to recognize the power of property investment. The simple act of buying a home with my father’s inheritance completely changed my life. By the time we moved to Granbury, I had several properties and was ready to finally get my real estate license due to the new chapter we were starting here.
In the beginning, I simply wanted to help my friends buy and sell their properties, using my experience to make it easier for them. However, it quickly turned into a full-time career as people continued seeking me out to help them with their buying and selling needs. I opened Oz Realty, inspired by “The Wizard of Oz.” Dorothy followed the yellow brick road and worked with an unlikely team to achieve her goal of getting back home. As an entrepreneur, I view my own journey in a similar light, wanting to help people while enlisting the help of a talented team.
Real estate is more than just a job; it is a passion that has allowed me to help others find their homes and create secure futures for their families, just as I had done for mine. Through my work, I have also become very involved in the community, serving on many boards and building lasting relationships
with people in my community. In building this business, many doors have opened in my life, and I have been able to extend these opportunities to my children. Both Paige and Parker work with me, forging their own path within the industry.
As I reflect on my path, I see how my experiences have infused passion into my work and every family I help. Real estate changed my life, offering me stability in times of uncertainty and opportunities in moments of potential. Now, it's a privilege to extend that same possibility to others, helping them to find their place in the world, one home at a time.
Outside of work, I have many hobbies, from boating and enjoying living on the historic Granbury Square to honing my skills as a third-degree black belt in American Kenpo, a piano player and a master scuba diver—I love adventure and experiencing new things!
One of my proudest real estate achievements was being awarded REALTOR® of the Year in 2021, a recognition my peers voted on. I’m proud of the industry reputation I have built, being recognized as a trustworthy, respected real estate agent. Beyond my professional achievements in real estate, I am deeply committed to serving and enriching the Granbury community. I am very involved with the Granbury Association of REALTORS® (GAR), serving as the Secretary-Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee, as well as the Chair of the Public Relations Committee. I also am a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee and the Texas REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) for GAR. I am in the President's Circle of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and am a Major Investor in TREPAC. I also serve as the Chair of the Hood Central Appraisal Review Board.
My involvement not only allows me to give back to the community that has embraced me but also ensures that I stay connected and responsive to the needs and developments within Granbury, fostering a better environment for all its residents. My commitment to serving both my clients and the Granbury community is at the heart of everything I do! With compassion, advocacy and honesty, I want to help people utilize homeownership as a means to achieve the American dream!
Sincerely,
Eliza
